The renowned sprinter of India, Milkha Singh died on Friday, June 18th. He made India proud with his athletic spirit. Sadly, we lost a true legend last light at 11:30 pm at Chandigarh hospital. 

Singh was 91 years old. He fought a long battle with Covid-19 for a month. In May 2021, he was detected with deadly Coronavirus. The reason for his death is due to post Coronavirus complications.

He truly was a star sprinter of India. Milkha Singh's death news is shocking to all. Bollywood celebs expressed their sorrow by penning down on their social media handle.

Bollywood actors mourn the demise of “The Flying Sikh”

Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Deol, Rahul Bose, Raveena Tandon, Madhur Bhandarkar, Farhan Akhtar, and many more expressed their sorrow on their social media handle. 

There was true sorrow in all Bollywood actor's posts. After all, he was a gem of India. He made India proud with his athletic spirit. So, it's difficult to accept that such a legend is no more between us.

Farhan Akhtar played the role of Milkha Singh in the film released in 2013 called "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag". This movie portrayed the real story of Milka Singh.

Milkha Singh's last days

On June 3rd Milka Singh was admitted to Chandigarh Hospital, PGIMER. Before getting admitted to the hospital he was quarantined in his home. Till June 13 he was fighting a battle with Coronavirus. Later, he was tested negative.

Unfortunately, due to the post coronavirus complications, the situation was difficult to survive. His wife Nirmal Milkha Singh passed away on June 13 due to Coronavirus.

Milkha Singh's Achievement

Singh has received the Padma Shri award for his achievements in sports. Moreover, he has won Gold medal in the Commonwealth Championship. Singh is the only Indian till date to win the Gold medal in this Championship.
