Dilip Kumar was not keeping well for a long time. The reason for the death is prolonged illness. He was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. His family doctor was treating him in the ICU. 

For the past one month, he was suffering from ill health. Lastly, on Wednesday, 7, he waved goodbye to the world. The official announcement of his death was made on his Twitter handle. Later, many well-known Bollywood stars and politicians expressed grief over his demise.
